Emergency rescue operations completed in Kyiv after massive Russian attack
In Kyiv, rescuers of the State Emergency Service have fully completed work to eliminate the consequences of the massive Russian attack that took place on 27 December. This was reported by the General Directorate of the State Emergency Service.
At all affected locations, the rubble was cleared, emergency structures were dismantled and damaged buildings were inspected. The rescuers ensured the safety of the territories and organised round-the-clock duty of the units.
At night, tents with heat guns were deployed for residents of the damaged buildings to keep them warm. More than 400 rescuers and about 90 pieces of special equipment were involved in the work. Response teams, utilities and volunteers also worked on the ground.
According to official figures, two people were killed in the attack and 32 others were injured, including two children. After the emergency rescue phase is completed, the city will move on to reconstruction work and damage assessment.
