Drone strike on a market in Nikopol: five dead and dozens injured

Saturday morning in Nikopol took a tragic turn: Russian troops attacked the town market using a drone. According to preliminary reports, five people were killed and a further 19 were injured as a result of the attack

The Dnipropetrovsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office has reported yet another war crime committed by the Russian Federation.

Attack during rush hour

The strike occurred at around 9.50 am on 4 April, when there were many civilians at the market. In addition to the loss of life, the market premises sustained significant damage. Rescue workers, prosecutors and law enforcement officers are currently at the scene of the tragedy, documenting the aftermath of the shelling.

Legal consequences

Under the procedural guidance of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office, criminal proceedings have already been initiated on the grounds of a violation of the laws and customs of war, combined with intentional murder (Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). This is official confirmation of yet another targeted strike against the civilian population of Ukraine.
