A member of the Brave1 platform has developed Ukraine’s first guided aerial bomb (GAB), which has already passed the necessary tests and is ready for combat deployment.

This was announced on Telegram by Ukraine’s Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov.

According to him, the development of the Ukrainian guided bomb took 17 months. Its warhead weighs 250 kg.

The Ministry of Defence has already purchased the first experimental batch. Pilots are currently practising combat scenarios and adapting the use of the new weapon to real-world war conditions, the minister stated.

“The Ukrainian guided aerial bomb has a unique design and has been created with the realities of modern warfare in mind. It is not a copy of Western or Soviet designs, but an in-house development by Ukrainian engineers for the effective destruction of fortifications, command posts and other enemy targets tens of kilometres inland after launch,” Fedorov added.

As a reminder, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy previously stated that Ukraine is preparing to begin exporting its own weapons.
