The Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yulia Svyrydenko, held a meeting with the Chairman of the Board of Naftogaz of Ukraine to analyse the current situation on the global oil and petroleum products markets.

According to the Prime Minister, prices are falling on the major exchanges, which is expected to have a direct impact on domestic fuel prices.

The state-owned operator Ukrnafta has already reduced its prices. Provided current global trends continue, an even more significant drop in fuel prices is forecast.

“Other market participants must also demonstrate a similar response, as the market must react fairly to changes in the price environment,” the Prime Minister noted.

At the same time, the fuel supply situation in the country remains stable. March saw the highest supply figures in the last five years.

“A similar trend will continue in April,” the official concluded.

It was previously reported that diesel fuel prices have risen sharply, with some petrol stations charging as much as 97 hryvnias per litre on 8 April.
