Ukrposhta is selling its final batch of old cars, including Land Cruisers and Volgas
This was announced by Ihor Smilianskyi, CEO of Ukrposhta.
Ukrposhta is putting the last large batch of old Soviet-era vehicles up for sale.
According to Ihor Smilianskyi, there are 316 vehicles in total. These include GAZs, Gazelles, Zhigulis, Volgas, UAZs and other models.
At the same time, this batch includes 75 foreign-made cars.
These include a black Land Cruiser, a Volkswagen, a Suzuki and other models.
Smiliansky noted that these vehicles do not form part of the company management’s new fleet.
According to him, since 2016, when he took over as head of Ukrposhta, the company has not purchased a single vehicle for its management.
At the same time, the average age of Ukrposhta’s fleet has fallen from 18 to 6 years during this period.
Smiliansky stated that the “luxury” cars were left over from previous times.
Where will the money go
All proceeds from the sale of the old cars will be channelled into renewing Ukrposhta’s fleet.
According to Smiliansky, the company has lost 420 vehicles since February 2022.
He also noted that the old cars are being put up for sale via Prozorro.Sales.
Smiliansky suggested that interested parties purchase these vehicles for a museum, a spare parts stock, or scrap metal.
He explained separately that Ukrposhta cannot transfer, donate or give away these vehicles, as this is not permitted by law.
Smiliansky also reported that last month, Ukrposhta’s on-time parcel delivery rate reached 97.9%.
As reported by ThePublic, Smiliansky stated that “Ukrposhta” has launched card payments across Ukraine
