The government has allocated an additional 3 billion hryvnias for urgent road repairs
This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko and the Ministry of Economy.
In the 2026 state budget, the government has allocated 12.6 billion hryvnias for the repair and maintenance of public roads, of which 4.5 billion has been earmarked for ongoing works.
The Cabinet of Ministers has now allocated a further 3 billion hryvnias from the reserve fund for urgent ongoing repairs to roads of national importance.
The Ministry of Community Development and the Recovery Agency have been tasked with significantly speeding up the pace of work.
According to government estimates, routine repairs on international routes must be completed by 1 May, and all major works by 1 June.
Yesterday, the Cabinet announced the roll-out of road repair works across the country. The Prime Minister ordered that the pace be increased to 150,000 m² per day. The current rate stands at up to 60,000 m² per day.
