The government will launch payments of 1,500 hryvnia and cashback on fuel: who will receive assistance
This was reported by the Government Portal.
The government is preparing a new support package for the people.
This was announced by Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko following discussions with the President of Ukraine.
The first part of the package concerns targeted support for pensioners and vulnerable groups of citizens.
According to the head of government, a one-time payment of UAH 1,500 will be directed to support the most vulnerable categories of the population.
This includes pensioners, disability benefit recipients, low-income individuals, basic social assistance recipients, internally displaced persons, and families with children.
In total, the programme could cover almost 13 million people.
The funds are to be paid out in a single instalment in April.
Payments will be made through existing mechanisms through which citizens receive social assistance.
The money will be transferred to special bank accounts or through Ukrposhta.
The government also clarified that these payments will be made within the framework of the current budget programmes of the Ministry of Social Policy.
The second part of the new package is cashback on fuel.
When purchasing fuel at petrol stations, citizens will be able to receive a 15% cashback on diesel fuel from the state.
A 10% cashback is provided for petrol.
For autogas, the cashback will be 5%.
According to Yulia Svyrydenko, the fuel cashback will be in effect until 1 May.
The programme is planned to be implemented at all petrol stations that join it.
Payments under this programme will be made on the basis of the "National Cashback" programme.
According to the government, 9.4 million citizens are already using this programme.
