In Ukraine, freight transportation volumes have decreased by 11%
In January-August 2025, Ukraine transported 208.9 million tons of cargo, which is 11.3% less than last year.

This is reported by thepublic.info citing the State Statistics Service.

«In January–August 2025, 208.9 million tons of cargo were transported, which is 11.3% less than last year. The main volumes were transported by: 106.9 million tons by rail, 77.4 million tons by road,» the report states.

The largest decrease in transportation was recorded in water transport – by 46.7%.

According to the State Statistics Service, during this period, the freight turnover also decreased – compared to the same period last year, it declined by 13.4%.

At the same time, passenger transportation shows growth over the eight months of this year. Overall, 1,443.2 million passengers used passenger transport during this period, which is 0.4% more than the previous year. The most transportation was carried out by urban electric transport – 786.9 million passengers, and by road – 612.6 million. Passenger turnover increased by 5.4% compared to January–August 2024.
