Ukraine to create a unified digital register of military personnel: what will change for mobilisation
Ukraine has approved the procedure for maintaining the State Register of Military Personnel, a unified digital database on the military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the State Special Transport Service (DSST).
This was reported by the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
The new register will become the central digital source of information about military personnel. Based on it, they plan to introduce electronic military records and significantly automate paper procedures in the army.
What will change for military personnel and their families
After the launch of the register, the following changes are expected:
- a reduction in paper procedures and the re-submission of identical documents;
- faster access to social guarantees and digital services, in particular through the Army+ application;
- increased level of personal data protection.
What benefits will the army receive
For the Armed Forces, the registry should provide:
- a single, verified source of data on military personnel;
- better management decisions thanks to up-to-date information;
- automation of processes, which will save time for authorised persons.
What this means for the state
The government notes that the launch of the register will allow:
- coordinate the work of state information systems;
- improve the accuracy and transparency of data;
- use state resources more efficiently.
The procedure for maintaining the register defines the rules for the formation, updating, storage and protection of data, as well as the conditions for access to information.
It also provides for electronic interaction with other state registers, in particular:
- the Unified State Demographic Register;
- the State Register of Civil Status Acts;
- the State Register of Natural Persons — Taxpayers.
The Ministry of Defence emphasises that the creation of the register will be another step towards a digital ecosystem of services for the Ukrainian military.
