92,000 cases involving missing persons have been opened in Ukraine
This was reported by Artur Dobroserdov, the Commissioner for Persons Missing under Special Circumstances, according to Suspilne.
According to Dobroserdov, the issue of individual identification tags for every serviceman, which would aid in identification, remains unresolved.
“These issues need to be resolved,” he says.
At the same time, there is a Cabinet of Ministers resolution on the procedure for taking fingerprints from military personnel, and a draft law on recording the dental records of military personnel has been drawn up.
In addition, a second reading of amendments to the legislation is due to take place, which will allow foreign specialists to be involved in the process of identifying bodies.
Dobroserdov identified another problem: not all missing servicemen have been declared wanted. However, he assured that a working group was set up at the end of last year to cross-check the relevant data.
