Ukraine has manufactured its first wind turbine blade
For the first time in Ukraine, a domestic company has manufactured a blade for a wind turbine, created entirely by Ukrainian specialists using modern high-tech equipment. The event was called historic for the country's machine-building industry. This was announced by the deputy head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Viktor Mykyta, on his Facebook page.
The product in question is manufactured by Friendly Wind Technology LLC — a blade 75 metres long and weighing 25 tonnes, which has already rolled off the production line and is ready for installation. The latest equipment was used in production, including the main matrix for manufacturing blades from Gurit, modern materials, and dozens of highly qualified specialists.
As noted, the implementation of this project marked the completion of the formation of a full-fledged domestic cycle of wind power plant production in Ukraine. This allows the state to independently meet its domestic needs for wind power equipment and strengthens the distributed power system, providing electricity to citizens' homes.
During the ceremony, the blade was marked with the national "Made in Ukraine" label. The path from idea to implementation was difficult, but, as noted, the team consistently moved towards the result.
The article also emphasises that even in the context of full-scale war, Ukraine continues to develop advanced technologies and is becoming one of the world's leading manufacturers of wind power equipment, alongside the United States, China, Germany, Denmark, Spain, India, Brazil and South Korea. The role of Zakarpattia is highlighted separately, confirming its status as one of the centres of innovation and high technology in domestic machine building.
