Volodymyr Zelenskyy plans to attend the G7 summit in France
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy intends to attend the G7 summit, which is due to take place in France this month, according to Politico.
This was reported by three officials familiar with plans to invite the Ukrainian leader to the meeting.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy is expected to join the heads of state and government of France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States during the G7 summit in Evian-les-Bains.
According to one of the sources, the President of Ukraine plans to discuss diplomatic efforts related to the war, as well as strengthening air defences to counter ballistic missile attacks from Russia.
In March, an adviser to the French president stated that Volodymyr Zelenskyy had not been invited to the summit, scheduled for 15–17 June.
A representative of the Élysée Palace, who is organising the G7 meeting, did not respond to a request for comment.
