The Russian army's casualties have exceeded 1.33 million
Total combat losses among Russian troops since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine on 24 February 2022 up to 5 May 2026 amount to approximately 1,336,120 personnel. Over the past 24 hours, losses totalled 970 soldiers.
These figures were released by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the General Staff, the Russian army has also lost 11,917 tanks, including 3 over the past 24 hours; 24,510 armoured fighting vehicles, including 3 over the past 24 hours; and 41,386 artillery systems, including 80 over the past 24 hours.
Losses of multiple launch rocket systems amount to 1,770 units, including 3 in the last 24 hours. 1,361 air defence systems have been destroyed, including 4 in the last 24 hours.
The number of aircraft remains at 435, and helicopters at 352. 1,320 ground-based robotic systems have been destroyed, including 3 in the last 24 hours.
A total of 274,030 tactical-level UAVs have been lost, including 1,968 in the last 24 hours. A total of 4,584 cruise missiles have been destroyed.
Ship and boat losses amount to 33 units, and submarines to 2. A total of 94,030 vehicles and tankers have been destroyed, including 206 in the past 24 hours, and 4,170 pieces of specialised equipment, including 2 in the past 24 hours.
