The Russian army suffered a further 1,000 casualties over the past 24 hours, according to the General Staff

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, total losses among Russian troops in the war against Ukraine between 24 February 2022 and 17 April 2026 have reached approximately 1,316,070 personnel. Over the past 24 hours, the Russian army has lost a further 1,000 soldiers.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has released updated figures on the Russian army’s combat losses in the war against Ukraine as of 17 April 2026.

According to military sources, since 24 February 2022, total Russian personnel losses amount to approximately 1,316,070. Of these, 1,000 were recorded in the past 24 hours.

Furthermore, according to the General Staff, the Russian army has lost 11,870 tanks, which is 4 more than the previous day, 24,400 armoured fighting vehicles, which is 9 more, 40,160 artillery systems, which is 114 more, 1,739 multiple launch rocket systems, which is 1 more, and 1,349 air defence systems, which is 2 more.

In addition, the report lists 435 aircraft, 350 helicopters, 243,008 tactical-level unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), an increase of 2,410, 4,549 cruise missiles, an increase of 12, 33 ships or boats, and 2 submarines.

The General Staff also reported the loss of 90,014 vehicles and tankers, an increase of 253, and 4,129 units of specialised equipment, an increase of 3.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine noted that the figures are being updated.
