The boy accidentally shot the neighbor with his father's rifle
In the Boryspil district of Kyiv region, the police are investigating the death of a 6-year-old girl as a result of careless handling of weapons.

This is reported by the Main Department of the National Police in Kyiv Region.

The incident occurred on August 23 around 16:00.

According to the investigation, a 7-year-old boy was playing at home with a neighbor girl. During the game, the child accidentally came into possession of a hunting rifle belonging to his father. The boy accidentally fired, resulting in the girl dying at the scene.

A criminal case has been initiated regarding the tragedy under Part 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine ("intentional murder"). Separately, proceedings have been opened against the boy's father under Article 166 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine ("willful neglect of duties regarding the child's care") and Article 264 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine ("negligent storage of firearms").
