Zelenskyy appoints new deputy head of SBU
On Tuesday, 13 January, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a decree appointing the Deputy Head of the Security Service of Ukraine. Yaroslav Merezhko has been appointed to the position.
This is stated in Decree No. 47/2026, published on the official website of the Presidential Office. The document provides for the appointment of Yaroslav Viktorovych Merezhko as Deputy Head of the SSU.
Earlier, the Head of State announced the preparation of personnel rotations in the structure of the Security Service of Ukraine, as well as in the leadership of a number of regions. The President emphasised that the process of internal changes in law enforcement and governance bodies continues, and new personnel decisions will be announced in the near future.
