Zelensky commented on the progress of peace talks and refuted claims of a dead end
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stated that peace talks to resolve the current situation are not at an impasse, despite the complexity of the final stage. The head of state made this announcement during a conversation with journalists.
According to Zelenskyy, work on the negotiation documents is continuing, and the so-called "last mile" is traditionally the most difficult phase of any negotiation process.
"I don't see a deadlock yet. Work on the documents is ongoing. As I have already said, although it sounds trite, the last mile is the hardest. However, this is true. We have what we have," the president said.
He also stressed that contacts between the parties are ongoing and involve several key negotiators. According to the head of state, communication is regular and intense.
"Talks are ongoing, and there is definitely no deadlock. I have spoken with Rustem Umerov on several occasions. He is in contact with Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. I spoke with him in the evening, today at six in the morning, at night, and also during calls with David Arakhamia. There is a lot of communication, but, of course, we need concrete results," said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
