In the US, two teenagers have been charged with attempting to carry out an explosion near the residence of New York Mayor Zoran Mamdani. According to the investigation, they travelled to Gracie Mansion with homemade explosive devices, discussing the potential number of casualties on the way and openly stating that they wanted to “sow terror”.
In Daejeon, South Korea, the search has been underway for two days for a wolf that escaped from the zoo in O-World Park. Following the incident, a nearby primary school has been closed, the park itself has suspended operations, and hundreds of people – ranging from firefighters and police to the military and special forces – have been mobilised for the search.
Servicemen aged 18–25 who have served under an annual contract in the Defence Forces and been discharged upon its expiry will be granted a guaranteed 12-month deferment from conscription. The Ministry of Defence has stated that the provision has already been finalised and is now fully in force.

On 2 February 2026, an updated procedure for information exchange in the field of financial monitoring came into force in Ukraine. For banks, insurance companies, notaries, auditors, estate agents, gambling operators and other entities subject to primary financial monitoring, this means new reporting rules, a switch to an online portal and a stronger focus on high-risk transactions.
It is entirely possible to have a power of attorney drawn up abroad for subsequent use in Ukraine, but it is important to follow the procedure correctly. Simply having the document certified is not enough: in some cases, you will need legalisation or an apostille, a translation into Ukrainian and notarisation.
From 10 April 2026, a new entry and exit procedure came into full effect at the external borders of the 29 European countries participating in the Entry/Exit System. For Ukrainians travelling on short-term visits, this means the end of manual stamps in passports, the first biometric registration, and a new digital record of their journeys.

Cold weather is set to persist in Ukraine until Easter on 12 April, with wet snow, night-time frosts and slippery roads. The coldest days are expected to be 9–11 April, and as Sunday approaches, the weather will gradually improve, although most regions will not yet experience any real warmth.
