The government has appointed Orest Mandziya as head of the State Customs Service. This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, who noted that the nomination had been put forward by Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko following an open competition. The Cabinet expects the new head to continue customs reforms and build a more transparent and efficient system.
Against the backdrop of the war with Iran, prices for private flights have risen by up to 15%, but this is not deterring wealthy clients. In Thailand, operator MJets says that demand for business jets is not just holding up, but is becoming the new norm: planes are full, the number of new clients is growing, and some flights now cost over $20,000 for just over an hour in the air.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stated that Ukraine will receive fuel, financial and technical support from the Gulf states in exchange for assistance in defending against Iranian drones. According to him, this involves direct supplies of diesel, crude oil for processing at European refineries, and specific financial mechanisms to strengthen Ukraine’s energy sector.
The government has allocated an additional 46.5 million hryvnias to complete the modernisation of school canteens, whilst also confirming a broader objective: to provide hot lunches to all schoolchildren across the country from 1 September 2026. This concerns 19 facilities that are already at an advanced stage of completion and can open sooner than others.

MPs Yaroslav Zheleznyak and Olga Koval received 1,633,440 UAH in compensation and reimbursements from the state budget for 2025 in connection with the performance of their parliamentary duties. At the same time, the amount of budgetary payments declared by Zheleznyak turned out to be higher than his annual salary in the Verkhovna Rada.
Kirill Budanov stated that the state should not force parishes to switch from the UOC to the OCU through pressure or coercion. According to him, such methods do not work in the spiritual sphere, and the process itself takes time.
