A car belonging to a member of the armed forces has exploded in Odesa: a man has been injured, and the SBU is investigating the terrorist attack
This has been reported by the Odesa regional police.
The incident took place in a courtyard on Semen Paliy Street. According to the police, the car exploded as soon as the man started the engine and began to drive off.
A 49-year-old man was injured as a result. The local media outlet ‘Dumskaya’ reports that the car belongs to a member of the military.
The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) office in the Odesa region has stated that it has classified the incident as a terrorist act and has opened a criminal investigation.
An investigative team and police bomb disposal experts are working at the scene. The full circumstances are being established.
This is not the first such incident in Odesa. In particular, in February, two Toyotas exploded in the city’s Kyivskyi district — the driver was killed in the first explosion, and in the second, which occurred a few days later, the driver was injured. Both cases were classified as terrorist attacks.
