A massive attack on Kyiv claimed the lives of four people and left 23 others injured

On the night of 15 June, Russian forces launched a massive attack on Kyiv using drones and missiles. Four people were killed in the attack, a further 23 were injured, and damage and fires were reported across all districts of the capital.

On the night of 14 June, a series of explosions rocked Kyiv during an air raid alert. Russian forces attacked the capital with strike drones and missiles.

As of this morning, according to Timur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, the death toll has risen to four, with 23 people injured as a result of the attack. Among them is a child. According to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko, 11 of the injured have been hospitalised. Three of the injured are in a critical condition. A pregnant woman is also among the injured and is currently in hospital.

Timur Tkachenko reported that over 40 locations in Kyiv have been identified with damage of varying degrees. According to him, a 25-storey residential building was hit in the Darnytskyi district.

According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the effects of the attack have been recorded in all districts of the capital.

In the Obolon district, 30 cars and warehouses caught fire, residential buildings were damaged, and windows and doors were smashed. In one of the apartment blocks, a fire broke out and caused damage between the third and fourth floors. A strike on a nine-storey residential building was also recorded, followed by a second strike. Two casualties were handed over to medics.

In the Podilskyi district, strikes caused fires in a private house and a block of flats.

In the Pecherskyi district, strikes on residential buildings were recorded, leading to subsequent fires. The roof of a church caught fire, covering an area of 800 square metres.

In the Solomyanskyi district, a nine-storey residential building was hit, causing fires on the fifth and sixth floors. Rescue workers saved 12 people, including three children.

In the Holosiivskyi district, fires broke out in a warehouse building, and a strike on a critical infrastructure facility was also recorded.

In the Shevchenkivskyi district, strikes were recorded on a non-residential building, residential buildings and commercial premises. Three people were rescued from a 25-storey residential building. Another person was freed from a lift and handed over to medics with burns. The fire has been brought under control.

In the Dniprovskyi district, a private residential building has reportedly been damaged.

In the Desnianskyi district, a fire broke out on the premises of an educational institution.

In the Darnytskyi district, falling debris was reported, followed by a fire.

In the Sviatoshynskyi district, residential buildings were damaged without any subsequent fire.

In addition, 140,000 customers in the northern part of the capital were left without power due to damage to power lines. Power cuts were also reported in some areas of the city.

The State Emergency Service noted that information regarding the consequences of the attack is being clarified. Rescue workers and all relevant services are working at the scene.
