A Su-24M military aircraft has crashed in the Khmelnytskyi region: the pilot and navigator have been killed (updated)
This was reported by the Ukrainian Air Force.
According to their information, Major Bohdan Hryhorovych Zagarulko and Senior Lieutenant Bohdan Oleksandrovych Babenko were killed.
The Ukrainian Air Force stated that rescue workers and law enforcement officers are working at the crash site. According to preliminary information, there are no injuries or fatalities among the civilian population. The causes and circumstances of the crash are being investigated.

The preliminary classification is Part 2 of Article 416 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (breach of flight rules or preparation for flights, resulting in a crash or other serious consequences), according to the State Bureau of Investigation and the Office of the Prosecutor General.
Investigators have already seized and are analysing the flight data recorder (also known as the ‘black box’). They will also analyse the aircraft’s flight log, the crew’s medical examination records, the airfield flight controller’s log and other official information, including flight permits.
The Ministry of Defence has set up an investigation commission, and internal investigations have also been launched at the military unit and the Air Force Command.
According to the investigation, the crash occurred on 16 June at around 19:05 during a training flight in the Shepetivka district. The pilot and navigator were killed; one of the deceased servicemen had been mobilised on 24 February 2022 as one of the first volunteers, whilst the other had joined the military back in 2019. The aircraft belonged to the 7th Petro Frank Tactical Aviation Brigade.
