A suspect in a series of thefts following the Russian Federation’s attack has been arrested in Kyiv

Taking advantage of the aftermath of the shelling
Residential buildings were damaged as a result of a night-time rocket strike on Khoriva Lane. The blast wave shattered windows and doors in the flats. According to the investigation, whilst residents were in shelters, a man broke into the damaged flats and stole the owners’ personal belongings. One of the victims contacted the police to report the theft of her property.
The suspect was arrested at the scene of the crime
Law enforcement officers quickly established the suspect’s whereabouts and detained him in one of the flats, where, according to the investigation, he was attempting to commit another theft. The detainee was a 29-year-old man who was wanted for committing a property offence in another region. Investigations are currently ongoing. Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the case and checking the detainee’s possible involvement in other similar crimes.
