Amosov took the lead from the very start
From the very start of the fight, Yaroslav controlled the situation in the octagon and did not allow his opponent to launch dangerous attacks. The Ukrainian fought confidently, kept his distance and gradually forced Alvarez into making mistakes. By the end of the first round, Amosov was already attempting to finish the fight with a submission, and it became clear that the Spaniard was finding it increasingly difficult to keep up with the Ukrainian’s pace. In the second round, Yaroslav successfully took his opponent to the canvas, after which he quickly secured a favourable position and applied a chokehold. Alvarez was forced to tap out.
The UFC recognised the Ukrainian’s performance
The UFC highly praised Amosov’s victory. The submission hold with which the Ukrainian finished the bout was awarded as one of the best performances of the evening. After the fight, Amosov celebrated his victory emotionally, performing a breakdance right in the centre of the cage. In a post-fight interview, the Ukrainian stated that he is ready for tougher opponents and wants a fight against a member of the UFC welterweight top 10. MMA fans on social media reacted positively to the Ukrainian’s performance. Some fans are already calling on the UFC to give Amosov a chance to fight for the championship belt.
