An 18-year-old man is to stand trial in Kyiv on suspicion of selling cocaine via a taxi service
In Kyiv, an indictment has been filed against an 18-year-old man from the Kyiv region, who is accused of the unlawful trafficking of narcotic substances.
According to law enforcement officials, officers from the Desnianskyi Police Department apprehended the young man on Mykola Lavrukhin Street. The investigation established that he had handed a taxi driver a parcel containing men’s trousers, inside which were hidden zip-lock bags containing a white substance.
Forensic analysis confirmed that the seized substance was cocaine.
During an authorised search of the suspect’s rented flat, investigators found bags containing used trousers and other material evidence which, according to the police, relates to the illegal activity.
The young man was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. Under the procedural supervision of the Desnianskyi District Prosecutor’s Office, he was served with a notice of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which relates to the acquisition and possession of a narcotic drug or psychotropic substance on a large scale with the intention of selling it.
The pre-trial investigation has now been completed. The case file, together with the indictment, has been forwarded to the Desnianskyi District Court of Kyiv.
