Angolan citizen Bento Adriano Mendes donated more than 80 electric generators worth tens of thousands of euros to Ukraine. Some of the equipment was received by the M. M. Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery to ensure uninterrupted operation during power outages.

The founder and director of BAM-86 Comércio e Serviços LDA, Bento Adriano Mendes, provided large-scale humanitarian aid to Ukraine, delivering more than 80 electric generators. This was reported by the Ukrainian Ambassador to Angola, Andriy Kasyanov.

According to the diplomat, by 31 January 2025, 75 electric generators with a total value of about €37,000 had been delivered to Ukraine. An additional 10 generators were transferred to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

On 12 February 2026, with the coordination of the Ukrainian Embassy in Angola, two more generators of different capacities were transferred for the urgent needs of the M. M. Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery. In addition, the businessman purchased two more generators and organised their delivery to the medical facility.

The ambassador stressed that the donated equipment ensures the uninterrupted operation of surgical and laboratory departments, as well as the functioning of shelters during air raid alerts. According to him, such assistance directly contributes to the preservation of the lives and health of Ukrainians and is an example of international solidarity during a difficult period for the country.

The M. M. Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery expressed its gratitude for the charitable support, emphasising that in the context of attacks on energy infrastructure, a stable backup power supply is critical for the operation of operating rooms, intensive care units and diagnostic equipment.

The medical facility also expressed its gratitude to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and Minister Andriy Sybiz for facilitating international support, as well as to the Embassy of Ukraine in Angola for coordinating cooperation.
