Another rescue worker who was injured in the Russian attack on 15 June has died in a hospital in Kharkiv
This was reported by Oleg Sinehubov, Head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, and the State Emergency Service.
The victim was Mykola Derkach, head of the 6th State Fire and Rescue Unit and a major in the Civil Protection Service. He was 48 years old. Mykola is survived by his daughter and mother.
This brings the death toll to six. Four rescue workers and a specialist from the Kharkiv City Council’s Department of Emergency Situations were killed that day.
Russia struck the rescue workers whilst they were dealing with the aftermath of yet another attack.
In total, that night Russia fired 70 missiles and 611 UAVs of various types at Ukraine — air defence systems intercepted 50 missiles and 582 drones.
