Applicant’s Online Portal: Registration for the 2026 admissions cycle began on 1 July
The applicant’s online account is the main online tool for taking part in the admissions process. Through it, you can submit applications to educational institutions, register for creative competitions and interviews, track the status of your applications, and confirm your choice of study place after receiving a recommendation for enrolment.
You can register for an account on the EDEBO portal at https://vstup.edbo.gov.ua. The Ministry of Education and Science emphasises that you can do this either on 1 July or on any day before the application deadline.
What you need to register
To create an online account, you will need to provide:
an email address to which the applicant has access;
a password to log in;
the series and number of your previous educational qualification;
the number, PIN code and year of issue of the NMT certificate or the examination paper for the EVI, EFVV or EVV.
If you do not yet have a certificate or examination paper, you may use an identity document or your taxpayer registration number during registration.
Key dates for the 2026 admissions campaign
The following timetable applies to applicants for bachelor’s degree programmes and medical master’s programmes:
1 July — start of registration for online accounts;
3 July — start of registration for creative competitions and interviews;
10 July by 18:00 — deadline for registration for creative competitions and interviews for state-funded places (for fee-paying places — by 25 July);
19 July — start of application submission;
1 August at 18:00 — deadline for applications;
no later than 6 August — recommendations for enrolment;
by 11 August at 18:00 — confirmation of study place;
by 13 August — enrolment of applicants for state-funded and contract-based places based on priority applications.
The Ministry of Education and Science has pointed out that each educational institution sets its own timetable for creative competitions, so these must be checked on the official websites of universities and colleges.
What to do if you have not yet received your NMT results
The main session of the National Multidisciplinary Test has now concluded. According to preliminary data, 324,284 candidates took part, representing 91.5 per cent of all registered candidates.
An additional session is due to take place, in which nearly 7,000 applicants will take part. These are applicants who were unable to sit the test during the main session for valid reasons, including illness, prolonged air raid alerts, international programmes, academic mobility, force majeure or technical issues.
The results of the supplementary session will be available by 29 July, i.e. before the application deadline. The Ministry of Education and Science emphasises that these results have the same legal validity as those from the main session, so applicants can apply for both state-funded and fee-paying places.
How to choose the right degree programme
The Ministry has reminded applicants that when applying, it is important to consider not only their National Multidisciplinary Test (NMT) score but also the subject-specific weightings for a particular degree programme.
For humanities programmes, Ukrainian language and the history of Ukraine carry the most weight; for technical programmes, it is mathematics; and for medical programmes, biology and chemistry. For creative programmes, up to 70 per cent of the competitive score is determined by the result of the creative assessment.
Before submitting applications, the Ministry of Education and Science recommends that applicants familiarise themselves with the subject weightings, assess their own National Multidisciplinary Test (NMT) results, compare them with the requirements of their chosen degree programme, and use the competitive score calculator.
Applicants are also advised to familiarise themselves with the Procedure for Admission to Higher Education Institutions in 2026 and the ‘2026 Applicant’s Guide’, which contains step-by-step explanations covering the entire admissions process.
