Around 90 per cent of Ukrainians are in favour of constructive relations with Poland — a survey
This is evidenced by the results of a survey conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) between 17 and 23 June.
According to the survey, only 5% of respondents favoured a hardline approach to resolving historical disputes. 90% of respondents are in favour of constructive relations with Poland
At the same time, only 1% of respondents believe that Ukraine should agree with the Polish view of shared history, whilst 4% believe that Poland should accept the Ukrainian position.
Meanwhile, 57% of those surveyed believe that every country has the right to determine its own national heroes, and that other states should not interfere in such matters. 33% of Ukrainians are convinced that a shared understanding of historical events can be achieved through the work of historians, rather than politicians.
As a reminder, it was previously reported that Poland has begun to deny Ukrainians temporary protection status more frequently.
