Attack on the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant: some of the radiation monitoring equipment has failed
The IAEA has documented the aftermath of the drone attack on the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. Some of the monitoring equipment has been damaged.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) reported this on the social media platform X.
According to the agency, an IAEA team visited the External Radiation Monitoring Laboratory (ERML) at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant a day after the plant was attacked by a drone.
The team found damage to some of the laboratory’s meteorological monitoring equipment, which is no longer operational.
IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi once again emphasised the critical importance of adhering to nuclear safety principles. He called for maximum military restraint in the vicinity of all nuclear facilities to avoid the risk of a disaster.
