Goodwine has assessed the damage following the Russian missile strike: some products will be temporarily out of stock
The Goodwine chain of shops has reported that the direct losses resulting from the Russian missile strike on its warehouse at the Amtel logistics complex in the Kyiv region amount to around 65 million hryvnias. This represents approximately 7 per cent of the company’s total stock.
The company emphasised that the most important thing is that none of its employees were killed during the attack. However, employees of the warehouse operator were injured.
The greatest losses were sustained in stocks of wine and spirits. Stocks of espresso coffee were also completely destroyed, as was almost the entire range of Brazilian coffee.
In addition, the company lost nearly 4,000 bottles of oil, around 35,000 bottles of water and soft drinks, as well as sweets, packaging materials, retail equipment, New Year’s decorations and even pet clothing prepared for the coming season.
Due to the destruction of the warehouse, Goodwine has warned customers that some products will be temporarily unavailable.
The company has reported that its logistics, procurement and warehouse operations are working at full capacity: redistributing remaining stock between shops, fulfilling wholesale orders and adjusting delivery schedules to restore product availability as quickly as possible.
This is the second Russian strike on Goodwine’s warehouse facilities since the start of the full-scale war. In March 2022, Russian troops destroyed the company’s central warehouse in Stoyanka, near Kyiv. At that time, the retailer lost around 80 per cent of its stock, including 1.6 million bottles of wine worth approximately 15 million euros.
As a result of the strike on the Amtel logistics complex, the warehouses of other Ukrainian and international companies were also affected, including WineTime, WOG, UKRTAC, Coffeton, Elit Ukraine, ‘Ariston Ukraine’ and Viessmann Climate Solutions.
