Belarus has launched nuclear exercises in conjunction with Russia
This is stated in a statement from the Belarusian Ministry of Defence.
The manoeuvres are being conducted under the command of the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Belarus. Military units from the missile forces and the air force have been involved in the exercises.
It is noted that the main objective of the exercises is to improve readiness for the use of modern weapons, in particular special munitions. The ability of personnel to carry out tasks and organise combat operations from unplanned areas will also be tested.
During the exercises, Belarusian forces, together with their Russian counterparts, will practise the delivery of nuclear munitions and their preparation for use.
The main focus will be on testing readiness for operations in unprepared areas across the whole of Belarus. The primary emphasis will be on practising concealment, long-distance movement and conducting calculations.
The Belarusian Ministry of Defence stated that these exercises are a scheduled training activity within the framework of the Union State. The statement also notes that the exercises are not directed against third countries and do not pose a threat to security in the region.
It should be recalled that earlier, the self-proclaimed President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, announced the preparation of the Belarusian army for war and a targeted mobilisation.
