Britain prepares troops for possible deployment to Ukraine after peace is established
The UK is allocating funding to prepare its armed forces for possible deployment to Ukraine after peace is established under future security guarantees. This was stated by Defence Secretary John Healey before the start of the meeting of the Ramstein Contact Group on Defence in Ukraine.
According to Geeley, Britain is working to ensure that its troops are ready to act in the event of peace. This includes both the presence of troops on the ground and the use of aircraft. The preparations are being carried out within the framework of the Coalition of the Willing, which brings together Ukraine's partners to strengthen security guarantees.
The Minister stressed that the support of Ukraine by dozens of countries is a demonstration of international unity. According to him, this coalition stretches from the Euro-Atlantic to the Indo-Pacific region.
Gili reminded that in 2025 alone, Ukraine's partners have committed to military assistance worth about £50 billion through the Ramstein format. He also noted that at the end of the year, the war is approaching an important moment, and signals from Berlin indicate the greatest progress in peace talks since the full-scale invasion.
At the same time, the minister stressed that Russia does not stop its attacks. In the last two months alone, he said, about 20,000 strikes with drones and missiles have been carried out against Ukraine. In this regard, Healy called on partners to increase their support for Kyiv to protect civilians in the winter and increase pressure on Moscow to achieve peace.
