Budanov spoke about mobilisation in Ukraine
This is reported by TSN, citing The Times.
“Otherwise, the country will simply collapse”
According to Budanov, after more than 12 years of war, there are no longer enough volunteers to provide the army with the necessary numbers of personnel.
“In principle, after 12.5 years of war, there is nothing left to motivate people to volunteer. Mobilisation is essential in this case. Otherwise, the country will simply collapse,” he said.
At the same time, the head of the Presidential Office acknowledged that “excesses on the ground” occur during mobilisation measures. According to him, the authorities are working to resolve this issue, but such situations arise in all countries where mobilisation is in force during wartime.
“As long as martial law and mobilisation are in place, unfortunately, such cases will occur,” Budanov noted.
Budanov spoke out against the mobilisation of men aged 18–25
Separately, the head of the Presidential Office commented on the possibility of conscripting men aged 18 to 25. In his view, mass mobilisation of this age group would have serious consequences for the country’s future.
“If we simply take all young men aged 18–25 through the mobilisation mechanism, we will destroy the future of our state, an entire generation,” he stated.
Earlier, Budanov also said that he opposes illegal actions or “excesses” on the part of TCC staff, but stressed that mobilisation during a full-scale war remains necessary.
