The head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov, told journalists that the appointment of a deputy for economic affairs is currently in the approval stage.
When asked whether a separate deputy or assistant for economic issues would be appointed, Budanov said: "We already have assistants. We are currently waiting for the deputies."
He also confirmed that the consideration of candidates is ongoing, but no specific decisions have been made yet. "Please don't rush. If we are waiting, it means they are still agreeing there," added the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine.
Previously, Rostislav Shurma held the position of deputy head of the Office of the President of Ukraine for economic issues. In September 2024, he was dismissed.
In early 2026, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky appointed Kyrylo Budanov as Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine. After his appointment, he announced a transition period to assess the team's work and possible personnel decisions.
