Chernihiv received 13 units of municipal equipment from Japan worth 65 million hryvnias
The vehicle fleet of Chernihiv's municipal enterprises has been replenished with 13 units of modern specialised equipment from Japan. The assistance was provided as part of the international technical assistance project "Emergency Restoration and Reconstruction Project", which is funded by the Japanese government through the Japan International Cooperation Agency with the assistance of the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine.
One front loader, three excavators and nine backhoe loaders have already been delivered to the city. Two more bulldozers are expected to arrive in the near future. The approximate cost of the equipment received is about 65 million hryvnias.
The Chernihiv City Council noted that the new machines will significantly increase the capacity of enterprises to carry out work on the improvement, repair and maintenance of the housing stock and communal infrastructure. The equipment has been distributed among the enterprises "Chernihivvodokanal", "ATP 2528", Teplokomunenergo, Desnyanske, Novozavodske, ZHEK 10, ZHEK 13 and the Specialised Municipal Services Plant.
Deputy Mayor Viktor Gerashchenko emphasised that during the hostilities in 2022, part of the municipal vehicle fleet was damaged by shelling. According to him, the support of international partners is critical for the stable operation of services and the provision of quality services to the city's residents. The city authorities thanked the Japanese government and JICA for helping the community during wartime.
