CEC resumes work of the State Voter Register for the first time since the beginning of the Great War
The Central Election Commission has resumed the work of the State Voter Register for the first time since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. The decision was made by a CEC resolution. This was reported by David Arakhamia on Telegram.
The resumption of the registry actually launches the resumption of the commission's interaction with citizens and authorities in terms of making changes and verifying data. It also creates conditions for updating the voter lists, which have changed significantly due to the war.
Updating the voter register is called one of the basic prerequisites for any election. The full-scale war has affected demographics, internal migration and the number of citizens abroad, and these changes should be reflected in the register data.
The report emphasises that there is a lot of work to update the register, and informing the public about preparations for the possible holding of elections under martial law will continue.
