U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio: each side will have to make concessions
In an interview with Fox News, Rubio emphasized that in any negotiations aimed at ending a war or any conflict, both sides must not only receive but also give.
"Basically, one side will not get 100% here. Each side will have to make certain concessions," he stated.
And although this is "not easy" and may be "unfair," the U.S. Secretary of State added that only this way can the war be brought to an end.
"The only wars that do not end this way are those that involve unconditional surrender by one side or the other, and we will not see this in this conflict," Rubio noted.
Additionally, according to him, after the meeting held in Washington, a summit between President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian dictator Putin is expected, followed by negotiations involving Donald Trump. It is at this last meeting that an agreement between Kyiv and Moscow on ending the war is planned to be concluded.
