Dii has launched a new service for veterans and their families
This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yulia Svyrydenko.
Thanks to a new service on Diia, users can submit a single application for several government services at once.
These include:
– one-off financial assistance from the Ministry of Veterans’ Affairs;
– social services;
– status as a person with a war-related disability;
– status as a family member of a fallen Defender of Ukraine.
What has changed
Previously, a separate application had to be submitted for each service.
For example, you would first have to apply for the status of a person with a war-related disability, wait for a decision, and only then apply separately for financial assistance.
Now, everything can be arranged at once via a single online application on the Diya portal.
Who can use the service
The service is intended for veterans, male and female veterans, Defenders of Ukraine and their family members.
It also applies to the families of fallen Defenders who are applying for the relevant status or state assistance.
How long does it take to process an application?
Applications are processed within 5–30 calendar days.
The timeframe depends on the specific services selected by the applicant.
You can check the status of your application online via the Diya portal.
Do you need to submit documents?
Most of the data is automatically retrieved from government registers.
However, in some cases, the applicant may be asked to provide additional documents.
The new service is designed to make it easier for veterans and their families to access state support.
Instead of making several separate applications to different organisations, a person can submit a single application online and track the outcome via Diya.
