Hollywood actor George Clooney has announced that he is gradually stepping back from his active career in the film industry
The 64-year-old Hollywood actor George Clooney has announced that he is gradually winding down his active film career. He explained that he is no longer chasing professional ambitions and wants to focus on projects that bring him joy, on charity work, and on activities away from the film set.

George Clooney announced this during the Chaplin Award Gala in New York.

Hollywood actor George Clooney has stated that he is gradually winding down his active career in the film industry.

The 64-year-old Clooney explained that he no longer feels the need to prove himself professionally. According to him, he now wants to focus on personal interests and activities away from the film set.

The actor noted that his priorities have changed. From now on, he will choose not the projects that advance his career, but those that give him more pleasure.

“I’ll be doing things that bring me more joy, because I’m no longer chasing a career,” said Clooney.

At the same time, the actor does not rule out the occasional return to the big screen if a truly interesting role comes along. He emphasised that cinema remains an important part of his life, but is no longer his main goal.

During his speech, Clooney also recalled his path to fame – from supporting roles to his breakthrough in the cult TV series “ER”.

According to the actor, he now views success and public recognition differently. Fame, as he noted, causes more embarrassment than euphoria.

What will George Clooney be doing?

George Clooney plans to focus primarily on charity work.

In particular, this involves the work of the Clooney Foundation for Justice, which he founded with his wife Amal Clooney in 2016.

The actor also intends to support educational initiatives for young people in the film and television industry in Los Angeles.

In May, it was reported that Amal Clooney – a well-known British human rights lawyer and George Clooney’s wife – could face US sanctions and even be barred from entering the country.

As reported by ThePublic, the sequel to the cult film “The Devil Wears Prada” has got off to a flying start at the box office. Over its opening weekend, the film grossed $77 million in the US and $233.6 million worldwide, with its US debut marking the highest-grossing opening of Meryl Streep’s career.
