Foxconn has been hacked: 11 million files belonging to the manufacturer of Apple and NVIDIA have been stolen
This has been reported by TechCrunch.
Foxconn has confirmed a cyberattack on some of its facilities in North America.
The company is one of the world’s largest electronics manufacturers and works with Apple, Google, NVIDIA and other tech giants.
Foxconn has stated that the affected factories are gradually returning to normal operations.
The hacker group Nitrogen has claimed responsibility for the attack.
The hackers claim to have stolen over 11 million files.
According to them, the data obtained includes confidential information belonging to Foxconn’s clients, including Apple, Google, Intel, Dell and NVIDIA.
As proof, the attackers have published some of the documents. These reportedly included product schematics and financial materials.
What is known about Nitrogen
Nitrogen is a double-extortion group.
This means that the hackers not only encrypt files and make them inaccessible to the company, but also steal the data beforehand.
They can then threaten to publish the information.
This approach gives the attackers two tools to exert pressure on the victim at once.
Foxconn has not yet disclosed the scale of the potential data leak or reported on the final consequences of the attack.
As reported by ThePublic, hackers from the Lviv region sold gaming accounts worth 10 million hryvnias
