The UN General Assembly supported the creation of the Palestinian government
This is reported by The Guardian.
142 countries voted for the respective resolution, 10 countries voted against, including Israel, the USA, Hungary, and Argentina, and another 12 abstained.
It envisages an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, the release of all hostages, the creation of a viable and sovereign Palestinian state. The roadmap also includes disarmament of Hamas and removing it from governance of Gaza, normalization of relations between Israel and Arab states, as well as the provision of collective security guarantees.
Israel's Permanent Representative to the UN, Danny Danon, stated that "this unilateral declaration will go down in history not as a step towards peace, but as another empty gesture that undermines trust in this Assembly." He also emphasized that the "main winner" from the adoption of the resolution is Hamas.
