Easter is just around the corner. If you’ve grown tired of the traditional onion skin technique, why not try a safe decoupage method that will transform ordinary eggs into works of art

This is reported by Subota Online.

The decoupage technique allows you to achieve the effect of expensive hand-painting using ordinary paper napkins and natural glue. It is not only beautiful but also completely safe for your health, as not a single drop of synthetic material is used in the process.

What you’ll need:

  • white hard-boiled eggs (the design looks brighter on them);

  • paper napkins with floral or animal prints;

  • cooking foil for a metallic sheen;

  • raw egg white, which will act as glue.

Step-by-step decoration instructions:

  1. Preparation: hard-boil the eggs and leave them to cool completely.

  2. Decoration: separate the top coloured layer of the napkin and carefully cut out or tear off the required sections of the design.

  3. Fixing: coat the surface of the egg with raw egg white. Place a piece of napkin on the egg and smooth it out with a soft brush from the centre to the edges.

  4. Shimmer: add small pieces of foil between the napkin patterns, securing them with egg white to create shimmering accents.

  5. Drying: leave the finished eggs for 10–15 minutes until the egg white is completely dry.

This method guarantees complete food safety, as only culinary ingredients are used instead of industrial products. Your festive basket will look elegant and original.
