In the Kursk Region of the Russian Federation, a car carrying local administration staff was blown up by a landmine

In the Mykolaiv region, a car in which a man with special protection status was being taken to a court hearing was involved in a road traffic accident. He and a police officer from the Kherson region were killed; other law enforcement officers were also injured.

The Russian Embassy in Sweden reported that, on the night of 2 July, it was ‘attacked’ by two quadcopters. One of them dropped a container of red paint onto the embassy grounds, whilst the other, with a mock-up of a homemade explosive device attached, crashed near the embassy building.

In Venezuela, following two powerful earthquakes, the number of buildings that have been destroyed or seriously damaged may be as high as nearly 59,000. The death toll and number of injured continue to rise, whilst rescue operations are ongoing.

The death toll from the two earthquakes that struck Venezuela on 24 June has risen to 1,719. The state of La Guaira has been hardest hit, where rescue operations are ongoing and temporary shelters have been set up.

In the Kyiv region, rescue workers are continuing to fight a large-scale fire in the forests of the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone. More than 200 people and around 60 pieces of equipment are involved in bringing the fire under control.
