Foreign delegations arrive in Kyiv: traffic will be temporarily restricted in the city centre
Temporary traffic restrictions will be introduced in the centre of Kyiv today, 20 December, in connection with the visit of foreign delegations. This was reported by the State Protection Department of Ukraine on Facebook.
The restrictions will be in effect in the central districts of the capital and will apply to certain road sections throughout the day. The exact time and list of streets are not disclosed for security reasons.
The UDO urged Kyiv residents and guests to plan their routes in advance and take into account possible delays when travelling around the city.
According to Ukrainian legislation, foreign leaders of states, heads of governments and heads of international organisations are under state protection during their stay in Ukraine. That is why temporary traffic closures are a standard practice during official visits.
Such measures are aimed at ensuring the safety of delegations, coordinating the work of law enforcement agencies and the stable operation of the capital's transport infrastructure.
