As part of a UNICEF programme, 50 million hryvnia has already been allocated to support children with disabilities in subgroup A from nine frontline regions of Ukraine.

This was reported by the press office of the Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine.

"Over 50 million hryvnias have already been transferred to the accounts of 6,500 aid recipients from UNICEF. This concerns children with disabilities in subgroup A from nine frontline regions of Ukraine – Chernihiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Sumy and Zaporizhzhia… Earlier, the Minister of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine, Denys Ulyutin, signed a relevant Memorandum with the Head of the UNICEF Office in Ukraine, Anne-Claire Dufay Demoulin," the ministry’s press release states.

It is noted that the assistance is provided under a UNICEF programme supported by the UK Government.

According to the ministry, following verification of data by the State Enterprise "Information and Coordination Centre of the Ministry of Social Policy" and the Pension Fund of Ukraine, lists were drawn up according to which nearly 8,000 children in the specified categories are entitled to receive assistance, for which funds totalling 50.4 million UAH have already been transferred to current accounts.

The ministry reminded that the assistance is paid to one of the child’s legal representatives who receives state social assistance for a child with a disability in subgroup A. The funds are credited to the bank account into which social payments are already being made.

The payment is provided only to those who did not receive the one-off payment during the 2025/2026 heating season under the ‘Winter Support’ programme.

The funds are provided in non-cash form. The family may use them for any of the child’s needs.

As a reminder, it was previously reported that in 2026, UNICEF will allocate over $91 million to Ukrainian education.
