Military official Yevhen Karas has stated that Ukraine needs to immediately begin mobilising 18-year-olds. He explained his position by pointing out that young people are generally healthier and more enthusiastic, and often do not yet have families or businesses.

This was reported by the Telegram channel “Ukraine Online”, citing a statement by Yevhen Karas.

Yevhen Karas stated that Ukraine needs to immediately begin mobilising 18-year-olds.

According to him, young people have better health and more enthusiasm. Karas also noted that at this age, people often do not yet have families or businesses.

“Ukraine needs to immediately begin mobilising 18-year-olds, as young people are healthier, more enthusiastic, and do not yet have families or businesses,” Karas stated.

The Telegram channel’s post did not provide further details regarding the possible mechanism for such mobilisation, the necessary legislative changes, or the position of state authorities.

As reported by ThePublic, according to the document, Ukrainian men liable for military service who are not currently registered for military service will be automatically registered based on information from registers (in particular via the “Trembita” system). Registration takes place at the place of registered residence. If a man does not have a registered or declared place of residence, he will be registered through the Territorial Recruitment Centres designated by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
