Kyiv received another 55 generators to stabilise energy supply
Kyiv has received 55 additional generators from the reserve hub of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine to support electricity and heat supply. This was announced on 21 January by First Deputy Minister of Energy Artem Nekrasov during a briefing.
According to him, emergency teams from other regions, as well as specialists from Ukrzaliznytsia, are working in Kyiv and the Kyiv region. Due to network restrictions, hourly power outage schedules are not currently being applied. Water supply in the capital has already been restored, and the operation of critical infrastructure facilities is being reviewed in parallel.
The Ministry of Energy is analysing the possibility of freeing up additional electricity for domestic consumers. In addition to the generators that have been transferred, equipment from international partners is expected to arrive in the near future.
The ministry also reported that network restrictions remain in place in the Odesa region. In a number of regions, emergency power cuts are being enforced during severe frosts due to equipment overload.
