Kyiv responded to Orbán's demand to stop EU financial aid to Ukraine
Ukraine Expected Orban’s Opposition to EU Financial Aid — Kyiv Says Position Was “Not a Surprise”
Ukraine was not surprised by recent statements from Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán regarding the suspension of EU financial assistance. This was stated to journalists in Kyiv by Taras Kachka, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration.
As reported by ThePublic.info, citing Kachka’s comments, discussions with the European Union are ongoing, and Hungary’s stance remains unchanged. According to the deputy prime minister, Ukraine continues its work with the EU within the existing framework of dialogue.
Speaking about the so-called “reparations loan,” Kachka noted that the European Commission has already presented several proposals, which, in his view, could allow EU member states to align their positions ahead of the upcoming European Council meeting and approve the regulation on financial support.
