When will the 50 thousand payout for childbirth under the new law begin
The Verkhovna Rada adopted a law that increases one-time assistance for childbirth

The Verkhovna Rada adopted a law that increases the one-time childbirth assistance to 50 thousand hryvnias. The new payments will come into effect from January 1, 2026.

294 members of parliament voted in favor of the bill №13532 on supporting families with children.

According to the document, the state will provide such payments and programs:

  • 50,000 UAH — one-time assistance at the birth of the first and each subsequent child;

  • 7,000 UAH per month — for childcare up to one year (for children with disabilities — 10,500 UAH);

  • 8,000 UAH per month — the "eYasla" program for children aged 1 to 3 years (for children with disabilities — 12,000 UAH);

  • "Baby Package" — in kind or cash compensation, available from the 36th week of pregnancy;

  • "Schoolchild Package" — one-time assistance of 5,000 UAH for first-graders;

  • 7,000 UAH — payment for pregnant women who are not officially employed (70 days before delivery).

If by January 1, 2026, the child is not yet one year old, the family will continue to receive the current 860 UAH monthly, as well as an additional 7,000 UAH until the child reaches one year of age.

The law provides for the expansion of state support programs for families and aims to increase birth rates and the material well-being of young parents.
